If the AM Antennas are triggering on their own, follow this verification checklist to identify and resolve the issue:
Mannequins near the antennas
Make sure to check if there are mannequins in the displays with tags positioned close to the antennas. The proximity of tags on the clothes of the mannequins can trigger the alarms of the antennas.
When positioning mannequins in displays or organizing product displays, it is crucial to maintain adequate space between the AM tags and the antennas. This will help prevent false alarms that can inconvenience customers and staff, ensuring the effectiveness of the store's security system and providing a hassle-free shopping experience.
Ensure a minimum distance of 1.50 meters between the tags and the antennas
Make sure that the shelves containing products with tags are positioned at a distance greater than 1.50 m from the antennas.
This practice is essential to ensure that the tags do not cause unintentional activations on the security antennas. Positioning the shelves at a safe distance from the antennas will help prevent inconvenient situations, such as false alarms that can occur when the tags are too close to the detection antennas.
Additionally, this precaution also helps maintain the effectiveness of the security system, allowing the antennas to detect and alarm only when a tag actually passes through the monitoring areas.
System reboot
If the antennas have remained on overnight, it is recommended to perform a reboot procedure. To do this, it is advised to turn off the breaker for the antennas and wait at least 30 seconds before turning it on again. This will allow any potential issues to be resolved and the system to be restored with more stability.
Electro-electronic devices near the antennas
Check for the presence of electro-electronic devices, such as monitors, televisions, refrigerators, appliances, and electrical cables, in the vicinity or between the spaces of the antennas.
When electronic devices are too close to the antennas or positioned between them, they can generate electromagnetic fields that interfere with the transmission and reception of signals.
To mitigate this problem, it is advisable to maintain an adequate distance of at least 1.50 meters between the electro-electronic devices and the antennas. If possible, reposition the devices that may be causing interference.
Points of attention
- The electrical circuit of the anti-theft antennas must not be used for other purposes (speakers, for example), as there is a risk of interference and false alarms.
- In some stores, closing metal doors can interfere with the system. In these cases, we recommend turning off the antennas when the store is closed.
